INVITE YOU TO COMPETE FOR A $1500 SCHOLARSHIP
OBJECTIVES: The award has the following objectives: • to encourage environmental stewardship among high school and college aged youth in Montgomery County. • to improve one’s understanding of resource management and conservation issues. • to help youth continue their studies in a natural resource management or related field beyond high school.
ELGIBILITY: • Resident of Montgomery County • Project completed in Montgomery County • High school senior planning to study a field related to natural resource management or a student enrolled in a two or four year college level program leading to an associates or bachelors degree in a field related to natural resource management including agriculture.* *High school seniors must demonstrate acceptance by an accredited college. Awards to applicants in an existing college program are contingent on proof of at least a C average.
THE AWARD: The award will be announced on Friday, May 25 of 2012 and consist of a $1500 scholarship awarded for the project submitted that best contributes to improvements to and understanding of local environmental or resource management issues. A check for the award will be issued to the winner on proof of acceptance to or enrollment in a qualifying program at an accredited degree granting university or community college subject to the above eligibility requirements.
