LOCATION: Camp Strake – Grand Lake Area
TIME: 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
COST: $5.00 per scout, which covers patches, trophies and some supplies
REGISTRATION Deadline: District Round Table, January 12, 2012
FIRST AID MEET: Venturing Crews will provide scenarios with victims using moulage to simulate injuries. Each patrol will be given a set amount of time to solve each problem, using teamwork, first aid supplies and recommended treatment.
Because of the competitive nature of activity, patrols should be well trained, with a minimum of five members.
Patrols must be established – mixed or temporary patrols may participate and will be scored, but will not be eligible to be ranked.
WHAT TO BRING: Patrol Flag and stand, Troop/Patrol first aid kit with enough latex/nitrile gloves for participants, poles and blankets for an improvised stretcher; a sleeping bag, splints, and rescue breathing apparatus.
JUDGING: Each participating patrol should be prepared to provide one adult leader to be a judge if the need arises. The scenarios will be based on the Boy Scout Handbook and the most recent edition of the First Aid Merit Badge book. Note, however, that scouts will be expected to use the new C.P.R. procedures as taught by the Red Cross.
AWARDS: Each participant will receive a patch; trophies will be given to the top three “established” patrols.
**The first and second place patrols are allowed to compete at the Council Meet. Only those patrol members who participated in the District meet may compete in the Council Meet.
